5 Kid-Friendly Fashion Trends You Will Fall in Love with This Season
Posted by Ginessa
The temperatures are starting to drop, the colors of the leaves are changing, and all of your favorite coffee shops are rolling out “pumpkin and spice” everything! That only means one thing ‘round these here parts…it’s finally Fall Y’all! To keep up with this season’s constantly changing weather, every mom knows that layering is the name of the game. Thankfully there are so many great deals rolling out of The Avenue that make Fall shopping for children nothing short of easy, breezy.
Here are 5 fashion trends for kids that will help you choose the very best this season:
1.) Denim Does it All
Seriously, what is there not to love about denim?!
You can wear it everywhere and with just about anything. [In my best ‘Bubba Gump’ voice] “There are denim shirts, denim jeans, denim jackets, denim vests, denim skirts, denim dresses and don’t forget the ADORABLE denim overalls….” Okay, okay, you get the picture. If there’s any one area to splurge on in your kids’ wardrobe besides shoes, it’s their blues. That is my sole piece of advice when purchasing this All-American staple. Quality denim will hands-down get the most wear out of anything else in the closet. It’s comfy, easy to wash, pairs with so much, and here to stay, so go ahead and grab the very best!
2.) Pile on the Sweaters
Bring on the snuggles! We love our sweaters! Cardigans, knit hats and leggings are all wardrobe basics that are essential for layering this season. Make sure your kiddo is cozy from the softest knits to the chunkiest cables in all the right colors.
3.) Fur-ever in Style
One trend that is everywhere this season is faux fur! Not only does a little fur or sherpa-lined clothing add some playfulness to a cooler weather wardrobe, it can be worn several ways. If you are still furry shy when it comes this look, try a faux-fur vest on your mini or some sherpa-trimmed boots this Fall for an instant style pick-me-up and tons of fun!
4.) Prints, Patterns, and Pops of Color
When it comes to this Fall’s prints and patterns look for bold tribal prints, earthy florals, and some go-to graphic tees all in the rich colors and textures we crave this time of year. Mix trendy plaids and prints with your denim and sweater basics for easy outfits that will stretch your wardrobe but won’t break your budget.
5.) Extra-curricular Cool
Finally, earn some extra bonus points with these comfy yet cool athletic-inspired pieces. Every parent can attest to the fact that when it comes to our kids’ recess, playdates and after school agendas, the fun never stops. Whether you’ve got a dancer or an avid sports fan in the house, stores at The Avenue like Gap, OshKosh, Old Navy, Children’s Place & Carters all have you covered. Long before us mamas were flaunting our yoga pants and baseball caps on the daily, kids had long taken to the trend of wearing their sports gear as everyday wear. So let those cute sweat bottoms, tulle skirts, leggings and sneakers do double-duty and take our kids straight from the classroom to the studio and gym.
