New Year, New You | Activewear for the Family!
Posted by Amy
It’s that time of year – this year is coming to a close, and we begin to look ahead to a New Year and what’s to come. It’s hard to believe 2018 is almost here—2017 went by in the blink of an eye! As with any approaching New Year, we all start to think about our New Year’s resolutions.
When we think about New Year’s resolutions, the top one that I always hear and comes to mind is being more fit and healthy in the New Year. Come January, the gyms are always packed! Not only can you join a gym to be more active and fit, but you can also do other activities like going to the greenway, to the park, or just doing an activity with the family!
If this is your resolution, the Avenue can set you up for success in the near year!
First, you may be struggling with what gym to join. Look no further, as Orangetheory Fitness is set to open at The Avenue in February. Perfect timing! At Orangetheory, you can take part in high energy, coach-led group workouts that are customized to your level of fitness. For more information, you can visit their website or give them a call at 615-546-0255. Their new location will be located across from Belk, and discounted Founder’s rates are available leading up to the grand opening.
Second, let’s face it. If you look good, you feel good. If I don’t have the appropriate attire for my workouts, odds are, I spend more time standing in the closet trying to decide what to wear than I do actually working out. There are numerous activewear options at so many of the stores in the Avenue to have you looking and feeling great for your active lifestyle! So, I decided to head over to two of them: Dick’s Sporting Goods and Old Navy.
At Dick’s Sporting Goods, you can shop brands like Nike, Under Armour, Columbia, North Face, and more! I’m in activewear overload. I first headed to find myself the perfect outfit. Do I choose classic colors, or vibrant patterns?
The options are endless! One of my favorite items I found were these Under Armour leggings with just the right pop of color that I paired with a super comfortable gray Under Armour hoodie.
Next I headed to the men’s section. If you’re married, and your husband is like mine, he likes to leave the shopping to the experts (me). Never fear ladies, you can pick something your significant other will be thrilled with. You can’t go wrong with any of the classic options from Nike.
Don’t forget, the store even has your footwear needs covered – just head to the back and one of the store associates will help you find the perfect fit out of an entire wall of shoes!
Next, I headed over to Old Navy. Old Navy, in addition to an already expansive store, boasts an entire activewear section with “Old Navy Active” for both men and women! The women’s section is filled with numerous leggings, hoodies, and fun graphic tees.
I chose some navy leggings with sheer panels accents – so in right now! I paired them with a comfortable gray hoodie and also picked out a motivational tee that reads “Anything is Possible,” which is sure to provide a little extra motivation when I need it.
Then, I ventured to the men’s section to check out some of the selection. Take your pick out of an entire wall of performance wear! They have both plain tees as well as some graphic tee options. No matter your preferences, you will find the right outfit to suit your style!
An added bonus: I burned a lot of calories walking all around the Avenue! One easy way to achieve your resolution!
Cheers to the New Year!
